Managing Partner

Saare joined Bill MacPherson as an articling student in 2006 and obtained his professional designation in 2009 while articling under Bill’s guidance. Saare’s primary focus is on providing tax and advisory services for privately owned businesses and their shareholders. Born and raised in the foothills south of Calgary, AB, Saare attended university in Texas on a golf scholarship in 2003 and traveled northwest from there to attend the University of Victoria from 2004-2006. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2006 while playing for the varsity golf team during his time at UVIC. In 2011 & 2012, Saare completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-depth Tax Course and continues to focus his practice on tax strategy for clients. Saare is married to lovely wife Mel who have two children, Hayden and Cayley. Saare enjoys golfing as a member at the Victoria Golf Club, can be found honing his skills as a ‘gentleman farmer’ near Brentwood Bay or relaxing at Mabel lake where the family spends time ‘off-grid’ during the summer.

Alanna received her CGA designation in 1987 and began employment with Bill MacPherson in 1997. She grew up in Squamish, BC and attended Capilano College and Simon Fraser University. Alanna has been happily married to Doug Wrean since 1984. They lived in Australia for 2 years then moved to Victoria, where they have lived in the same house in Fairfield since 1987. They have 2 adult children and are very happy that both kids still reside in Victoria. Alanna and Doug enjoy travelling, with highlights being trips to Hawaii, New York and many cruises.

Michele joined Bill MacPherson in 2006, and obtained her CGA designation in 1995. Her focus is on owner-managed businesses. Interests outside of accounting include spending summers at the lake, hiking, biking and spending the winters skating and cross-country skiing.

CPA

Born and raised in Victoria, Jarred joined the Macpherson Adams family in 2019 after obtaining his CPA designation while articling at Grant Thornton. He began working in public practice in 2016 where his articling focus was assurance services for privately held and NPO businesses. Jarred then completed CPA’s In-depth Tax Course and is now focused on providing accounting and tax services to clients with a broad range of interests and financial goals.

Outside of the office, Jarred loves spending time with his wife Rebecca and their two daughters. He is also a member at Gorge Vale Golf Course and enjoys competing in local tournaments.

In Memoriam

Patti started with MacPherson Adams many years ago as part of the T1 Personal Tax Return team and in 2011 joined on full-time with the firm. Patti was born in Victoria and raised in a number of places as part of a Navy family and has now settled firmly in Sooke. Married to husband Pat, for over 40 years, they are the proud parents of 4 children. They have also been blessed with 3 lovely grandchildren, Charlotte, Liam and Abigail. Patti enjoys knitting, sewing, reading and spending time with family.

D.O.G – Designated Office Greeter

Arni took over office duties after our beloved Walter passed away in 2018. You’ll often find Arni sauntering around the office, greeting arrivals at the door or keeping everyone company in the meeting rooms. Remember to bring a dog treat to the office and you’ll have a friend for life.

Staff Bookkeeper

Linaya joined MacPherson Adams in the fall of 2022, in a part-time bookkeeping role. Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Linaya relocated to Victoria in 2021 and have loved embracing the West Coast lifestyle ever since. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, swimming at the lake, and spending time outdoors—especially appreciating the abundance of trees, nature, and the absence of snow.

Accounting Staff

Nitika moved to Canada in 2021 as an international student and earned an Accounting Diploma from Camosun College in 2023. In the same year, she joined MacPherson Adams as a Staff Accountant to gain hands on experience in accounting and taxation, supporting her long-term goal of becoming a CPA. Outside of work, Nitika enjoys spending time with her husband, Shubham, and playing board games with friends and family. 

Articling CPA Student

Born and raised in Victoria, Anielle is fortunate to live and work on the coast. She joined Macpherson Adams in 2025 as an articling CPA candidate after graduating from Camosun College with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in accounting. When not working or studying, Anielle enjoys reading, playing board games, and backcountry camping around Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.

Office Administrator

Born and raised in Victoria, Caitlin joined MacPherson Adams in the fall of 2025. She graduated from Camosun College with a certificate in Office Administration and is currently working towards a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus on accounting. Outside of the office, Caitlin can usually be found working on her latest crochet project, dreaming up her next nail art design, or paddleboarding the Gorge Waterway in the summertime.
